[Sarah Trimmer:] A Series of Prints of English History, Designed as Ornaments for those Apartments in which Children receive the first Rudiments of their Education. London: Printed and Sold by John Marshall, at No.4, Aldermary Church-Yard, in Bow-Lane, and No.17, Queen-Street, Cheapside, [1792?]. [WITH:] A Description of a Set of Prints of English History; Contained in a Set of Easy Lessons. By Mrs. Trimmer. In Two Parts.—Part I [and] Part II. London: Printed by John Marshall, at No. 4, Aldermary Church-Yard, Bow-Lane, and No. 17, Queen-Street, Cheapside, [1792?]. Three volumes, 16mo (11 cm), in early/period full calf, housed in a custom solander box; [2] pp. + LXIV [64] leaves of plates; [4], 261, [1] pp.; [2], 247, [1] pp. ESTC T132939; N28353.

First or early editions: those plates that bear an imprint are dated Oct. 2, 1792; the title-page of part 2 of the text has the typo "Pirnts" for "Prints." The plate volume neatly rebacked with modern calf and the boards professionally restored; the text volumes are well worn and rubbed, with shadows of old tape repairs, some loss to the spine ends, joints cracked but holding; a very few small spots to the text leaves, a few plate leaves bumped at the tips of the corners, but the contents are otherwise exceedingly clean and fresh. Text volumes with the neat early signature of Sarah Cobb. An appealing example of a charming and uncommon set, the plate and text volumes not often found together.
