OF THE ISLAND OF BORIQUEN OR PUERTO RICO. Avon, CT: Limited Editions 
Club, 1975. Folio (7-1/2" x 12") bound in imported natural vellum-backed 
scarlet buckram boards with a gilt design. Translated and edited by 
Daymond Turner. Illustrated with drawings by Jack and Irene Delano 
including 8 full-page four-color serigraphs silk-screened from the 
originals by Pava Prints of San Juan. Printed at the Stinehour Press. Of 
a total edition of 2000 copies SIGNED by both artists on the colophon 
page, this is one of only 15 Presentation Copies with the publisher's 
blindstamp attesting to such on the colophon page where instead of a 
number the initials "G.C." are handwritten. Acquired directly from the 
publisher's files, this copy belonged to Gordon Carroll who was in 
charge of the club's operations in the 1970s when it operated out of 
Avon, CT. This appears to be the only English translation of this 
section of Oviedo's HISTORIA GENERAL dealing with Puerto Rico. Monthly 
Letter laid in. Fine in a Near Fine slipcase with light spotting.
