Edgar Sheppard: Memorial of St. James's Palace. London: Longmans, Green, and Co., 1894. First edition. Two volumes, tall 8vo (23 cm), bound in half morocco and marbled boards by Mudie, marbled endpapers, top page edges gilt; 433, 419 pp.; with frontispieces, plates (many with tissue guards), and in-text illustrations. Bindings with bumping/wear to two corners; contents with occasional light spotting, else clean and sound. Front paste-downs with the rather grandiose bookplates of "Merton Russell Cotes, JP., F.R.G.S., ye mayor of Bournemouth 1894-5."
