An uncommon title: ESTC locates only three copies in libraries in the UK and six in the U.S. Contains the essay, "A Comparative View of the Writings of Addison and Johnson," as well as essays on Frugality; Education; Death; the Advantages of Adversity Considered with Reference to Our Present Situation and as the Best School for Virtue; etc., and a selection of original poetry. Lacking one leaf of the subscribers list (pp. v-vi), soiling and staining to the first and last leaf, a few scattered spots elsewhere, else clean and sound.
