The Book of Common Prayer, and Administration of the Sacraments, and other Rites and Ceremonies of the Church, according to the Use of the Church of Ireland: Together with the Psalter or Psalms of David, pointed as they are to be sung or said in Churches; and the Form or Manner of Making, Ordaining, and Consecrating of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons. Dublin: Printed by the executors of David Hay, assignee of the late Boulter Grierson, printer to the King's Most Excellent Majesty, MDCCLXXIII [1773]. [BOUND WITH:] [William Vickers:] A companion to the Altar: shewing the Nature and Necessity of a Sacramental Preparation, in Order to our Worthy receiving the Holy Commnnion[sic]. Wherein those Fears and Scruples about Eating and Drinking Unworthily, and of incurring our own Damnation thereby, are proved Groundless and Unwarrantable... 1774. [BOUND WITH:] Nicholas Brady and Nahum Tate: A New Version of the Psalms of David, fitted to the Tunes in Churches. 1773.

Three works in one, 8vo (22 cm), in a striking period binding of full red morocco with the spine elaborately ornamented in gilt and with gilt-tooled sunbursts on the front and rear covers; marbled endpapers, all page edges gilt. Binding with some rubbing and light staining, bumping to the corners; contents with intermittent light browning, a few leaves (ca. 6) protruding slightly from the text block with some wear to the fore-edges, else quite clean and sound.

Also in this lot: A miniature (9.5 cm) Book of Common Prayer, printed in Edinburgh by James Blair in 1737, bound in red polished calf ornamented in gilt.
